car electronics installation-strongly approving of do-it-yourself (DIY) work

Leave car electronic installation to Professionals

Other people have just discussed whether or not leave the installation work to the professionals.

In their opinions, it is becoming more and more difficult to do work on and perform simple installation on vehicles. But I am strongly approving of do-it-yourself (DIY) work.

However, with the technical advance and improvement in cars, (especially when it comes to hybrids and electric vehicles), a very simple mistake can lead to very unfavorable and destructive effects to the whole electrical system.

For substance, if you make a mistake in connecting the wiring, then the car is not able to start due to a improperly ungrounded component. On the other end of the spectrum, it can lead to damage to the important parts of the car, like computer when connections are needed for these parts.

Now take another event for example and reference. In case of soldering connections, if you have not cleaned it well enough, connect two adjacent and short them out, or in case that the soldering iron was left on the circuit for too long, it can lead to destruction and damage from heat. All these awful problems come into occurrence because of a lack of knowledge and training, which professional installers in dealing with electrical components require.

To make my point of view clear, professional installers are recommended when the cars we work on are produced from the year two-thousand forward. Cars from the nineties and older, are less complicated from a computer standpoint, and have a greater threshold for mistakes.

However, you are badly advised to work on the complicated installation work, unless what the installation involved is familiar to you and comfortable.
Finally, take the installation process into consideration before you do anything to get started. When it comes to a newer car covered by a warranty, there is likelihood that you void it becase of the DIY installation.

Federal warranty laws will only protect you if the car manufacturer cannot prove that the issue you are having with your car is not directly linked to the recently mounted aftermarket component. Greater protection is guaranteed if qualified professional do the work for you.

In conclusion, retain all invoices and receipts for your records in the case that you have an issue with your dealer. Possibilities are, if performing the work on your own and caused the issue, your warranty claim is likely to be denied, and in some extreme conditions, attempt to void it all together.
